The system-generated creation of termination events, such as what would happen when an employee resigns or retires, is an integral part of PeopleSoft's benefits processing. However, it is recommended that users exercise caution when processing these events. It is possible that an employee has a primary job that makes the employee benefit-eligible, and also has secondary jobs that are hourly. If that employee's hourly job is terminated, that action creates a termination (TER) trigger in Ben Admin. If that TER event is processed and finalized, it will terminate that employee's benefits, even though the primary job is still active. If there is ever a question about whether or not to run a termination event, check the employee's Job Data if you have access, or if not, consult with your HR team.
